Thread: Epygi Quadro 16Xi and Quadro FXO gateway scenario?

  1. #1

Default Epygi Quadro 16Xi and Quadro FXO gateway scenario?

I hope someone can help me about the next scenario:

Epygi quadro 16Xi (3 ISDN trunks) upgraded to the latest firmware

    Extensions (111-177)
Call routing table: 1{11-77} --- PBX---- call to extension
?* ---ISDN trunks---- call to PSTN
The client doesn’t want 9 for calling pstn numbers -they dial directly pstn numbers.
So everything is working ok. Now they want to extend trunk lines.
We have in our office Quadro FXO gateway (6 FXO) (not ISDN gateway). So my questions are:
    1. Is it possible to extend IP PBX with ISDN with Quadro FXO, or we must use Quadro ISDN? The problem could be in Call routing table where must add same route ?* but with FXO shared trunks. Should the metric be the same or higher?
    2. On Quadro 16xi on default settings could I accomplish to have dial tone when dial 9 (and then I want to hear PSTN tone for free line)
Sharing Quadro FXO lines with Quadro 16xi is simple with the manual.
Just to say that Quadro FXO and Quadro 16X (4 FXO trunks) in above scenario is working, because I have one route:
    ?* FXO
    port(s): Any Port
    Any Port@172.30.0.249:5060

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Apolllo

A./ You can use any Gateway device to make calls through, same metric is fine just make sure the prior rule has "fail over any reason" via ISDN

When you use an FXO Gateway and 5.1.39 in the PBX, do not say any@ipaddy of the fxo gateway for the route, tell it, port1,2,3,4,5,6 etc otherwise it wont work.

    2. On Quadro 16xi on default settings could I accomplish to have dial tone when dial 9 (and then I want to hear PSTN tone for free line)

A./ rule would be just 9 instead of 9* dont forget to make this a higher rule than your *? dial out rule or it wont work.

    Thanks, K.

    It's working. :-)

I have another question regarding fax machine.
On Quadro 16xi on 3 ISDN trunks and 6 FXO trunks shared from Quadro FXO gateway all PSTN calls are routed to created extension 177 where I configured some services (call hunting, many ext ringing,...). On one extension is attached fax machine.
I want to accomplish the next scenario:
    1. When someone is calling from outside on any trunk (any number) a secretary transfers a call to fax extension. Someone picks up and press fax button to receive message.
    2. When someone sends fax from outside on any trunk line how to redirect it on fax extension without answer it and giving fax tone

Just to mention that all trunks aren't on 00 but on 177!
The second question refers on welcome message on virtual extension 177:
Can I record welcome message something like: for Sales press 1, for administration press 2, for calling the operator press 0-the last one will activate some services on ext like call hunting or many extension ringing...

I will post this as new tread also, but i think you are the the expert... ;-)

Well now - if I only had recognition from the Epygi crew - id be a happy man - but anyway thats another thing ...

To be honest, with your specific questions,

You really need to talk to a reseller in your region.. because it isnt just click here or there answer, it needs someone with technical skills to provide this solution at a higher than normal level.

Yes I can do it... I can provide remote design, but not for free, because it is my bread and butter so to speak, if you are the reseller then go to your distributor, or hire someone like me that can provide the solution. The Epygi guys might be able to guide you through some of the scenarios, but yours involves other components that they do not maintain, install, or program, they can be paid to provide the skillsets though, same as most of the other resellers.

    Regards

    Kevin
