Thread: Packet Size

    Post Packet Size

We know a PCMU codec ulaw or alaw uses around 85kbps, I just want to know why the quadro reports Received packet size as being 160. Is this 160 / 2 = 80 each way? The confusing thing is it reports 160 on the RX and TX. Is this a mistake or is the PCMU codec using 160 kbps?

Seems you've messed the bandwidth usage with packet size You are correct saying that PCMU codec ulaw or alaw uses around 85kbps bandwidth (with 20ms paketization interval), but the size (payload) of each packet is 160 bytes.
