Thread: Unique phone number

    Hi,

I will try to be clear.

    Configuration:
One Quadro, some SIP phones (Snom, Astra, ...)or others and Nokia E series phones.

The Nokia E series phones come by default with a SIP client and could be registered on Quadro, like a classic SIP phone. Everything works great. You can make internal calls with others extensions or make external calls and of course be reacheable by your PBX extension (eg. : extension 20).

My question is: Instead of having two phone numbers (the extension 20 and the GSM number), the idea will be to have only one unique phone number managed by the staff, the GSM one. And so, to be automaticly reachable to the office or out of the office by this number. The Quadro should deal with the registered status of the IP lines or something else to find the phone and establish the call.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions to configure the Quadro.

    Regards.

If all your GSM numbers are from the same range, let's say they have the same prefix, and the rest of numbers are different, then there is a way to orginize it withoutdoing some weird configuration. In the latest releases of Quadro it is possible to have an extensions withup to 20-digitslength. Just delete the default extension and create thenew ones with the same number, as GSM number of your phones. Attach lines to them and register on SIP server (if needed). Then create a routing rule for calling to that numbers with "PBX" call typeand set "Fail Resaon". Create another rule with the same pattern, but with "PSTN" call type in this time. Now by dialing the phone's GSM number Quadro will try to ring the phone first as a PBX (internal)extension, then if the call will fail, it will pass to the second record and call to the same number via PSTN.

In case if the GSMnumbers of your phones are different, you need to createthe same pair of routing rules for every GSM number/phone.

You canconfigure your Nokia phones as a Remote Extensions of Quadro to be reachable both in and out of office.

    Hi all,

Thanks a lot for your help. It works great with a Quadro 2x fw: 4.1.33

Justsome remarks for those who want to implemented it.

To have the CR rule working the VM must be disabled for the mobile extension. It is not an issue because theGSM VM will stay reachable to the caller. The configuration is really user friendly. First, we haveto detach an IP line from an unused extension, and adding a new extension with the last 8numbers of the mobile and attached the free IP line.

In the CR table, as here in France, all mobile numbers start with 06, only one rule is useful to deal with the availability of the phone,
