Thread: No ringback tone when dialing a DID

Default No ringback tone when dialing a DID

I've been hearing from a client claiming that when dialing a DID number for an extension, they dial the number and they don't hear any ringback tone, it stays silent until the user answers or they go to voicemail.

The client has a QX200 with a QXE1T1 gateway, all incoming calls are received by the E1 gateway.

    Any ideas?

Shane, the following steps are from the Epygi ticket that solved my problem, if you are using a QXE1T1 gateway, this might help:

    1. Go to the Interfaces->E1T1 trunk page.
    2. Click the Modify Signalling Settings icon.
    3. Select all timeslots, and click Edit.
    4. Check if the "Generate Progress Tone to PSTN/PBX" checbox is selected. If not, please select it.
    5. On the same page, please deselect the "Generate Progress Tone to IP" checkbox and then select the "on call acceptance" option.
    6. Finish the wizard.
