Hi All

I had a 4xi and a gateway. 4xi was xxx.xxx.17.6 and gtwy was 17.7

4xi died, replaced with a new 4li

Have setup auto config, using windows DHCP, option 66: xxx.xxx.17.6, option 067: ipeconfig/snome-{mac}.htm

I know this setup works.

But it's really difficult to get the Snoms to pick it up.

The phone log is saying:
"[5]24/12/2001 00:00:12: Using GUI language English from: /mnt/snomlang/gui_lang_EN.xml
[5]24/12/2001 00:00:12: Using WEB language English from: /mnt/snomlang/web_lang_EN.xml

[5]24/12/2001 00:00:21: Fetching URL: http://127.0.0.1/dummy.htm"

NOTE: Trying from 17.7 !!??
How is that possible? I reset the phone from the web interface.

Phones where the config HAS finally taken hold, show the following in the logs:
[5]24/12/2001 00:00:19: Fetching URL: http://xxx.xxx.17.6/snom.cgi?mac=000413273xxx
[5]24/12/2001 00:00:19: read_xml_settings: found settings (container) XML header
[5]24/12/2001 00:00:19: read_xml_settings: found phone-settings XML header
[5]24/12/2001 00:00:19: read_xml_settings: found one byte encoding: 1

Note the 17.6.

What is going on here? Where is the Snom getting 17.7 from?
The strangest thing is that 17.7 is just a gateway: It never served as a DHCP or registration host.

Any ideas... this has got me stumped

Cheers
Michael
