Default Day / Night Toggle No Time Conditions

    Folks,

I'm sure this should be simple yet by brain's letting me down badly. I have a quadro 2x running the latest firmware and need to have Two separate auto attendants. One for office hours (constantly changing) and one for night service.

Day Attendant is to offer the caller a dialling menu and if no input is detected, pass the call to a receptionist, extension 201.

Night attendant is simply to read an out of office message and allow the caller to leave a message if they stay on the line. (No user input).

I can sort out the actual attendant scenarios but cannot find a way for the operator to enable the night attendant when she leaves the office and the day attendant when she comes into the office again in the morning. So basically i need to know how i can toggle incoming calls to one attendant or the other manually.

If anyone can give me some guidance or point me to an example, any help is greatly appreciated. I have read all posts I can find but they all seem to use time conditions and I need to use some ort of manual toggling.

    Cheers,

    Lee.

    Hi Leeinsa,

This is easy to do. And you don't need for two attendants. Just create two routing rules with the same pattern (let say 444) and with different destinations; one for office hours, another one for out of office hours. Assuming the incoming calls are from PSTN, so go to the FXO settings and route all incoming calls to the routing 444.

For both two routing rules run the Call Routing Wizard and in the wizard first page configure the enabler and disabler Keys, so that the enabler key for the first routing to be the disabler key for the second routing. And vice versa, the disabler key for the first to be the enabler for the second.

Now leaving the office you just need to take any phone, dial the feature code *77 to disable the first routing and enable the second. The same when come back in office.

The destination for the first routing rule can be the default 00 attendant with dialing options. The destination for the second routing rule can be a virtual extension with custom greeting. That's it.

    Thanks
    Ashot

    Hey Ashot,

Well that made things about 99% quicker and easier than the way i was dicking around with. Worked like a bomb.

    Many thanks,

    Lee.
