Default Epygi Music Streamer (EMS), storing playlists

    Howdy,
How do I make EMS 1.6 store playlists if not logged in with administrator rights?

    How does EMS store playlists?
I couldn't find a config file or the like.

    Hello,

EMS stores playlists in system registry. The fix to not require administrative rights will be included in the next release (asap). Sorry for inconvenience.

    Thanks, thats great news.

Will the new version be able to run as a service with say a text-based playlist file so a user doesn't have to manually login and start the application?

Not yet, sorry... now it just allows users without admin rights to store playlists. Will publish as soon as possible. The service version will be available a bit later.

The service version would be great, however better would to be rather than spend engineering time on EMS, spend the time fixing the code for VLC to play mp3s as a g711u stream. Once fixed, VLC could transcode an Internet radio stream as Music on Hold, much more flexible than EMS in addition to playing local mp3s.

Epygi could also OEM - M2 Technology's Music on Hold Streamer for IP Telephone Systems and then sell that through the chain without having to recode software because it then becomes a hardware application. Hrant let me know if you do and I will send you the Directors details.

    Kevin:

not sure what their solution is. Is it a hardware streamer? Hard to understand looking at their WEB.

    thanks,

    Kevin,

Thank for the details. Feel free to send me over information on this solution. As for now we do not OEM any other manufacturers product. I could explore a different type of partnership at a later date. We are going to focus on updating our EMS for now and other high priority projects. I look forward to the details. Thank you.
