I think he means pin codes for extensions - I have not implemented it, so can't add any value to this post (blush)

Why not use call routing to provide a pin code for every extension or group of extensions if you want to have a single pin code for sales so to speak...
Or you could implement Hot Desking so if people want to sign in and verify who they are and therefore they then dont need to use a pin for every call...
