Thread: Custom Scenario. Is this possible?

Default Custom Scenario. Is this possible?

    Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone will have done this before and be able to give me some advice or perhaps even an example scenario file.

I would like incoming calls to ring at the reception desk,
If not answered within xx seconds,
a voice file to play a message saying "your call is important, hold for reception" etc.
then the reception phone to ring again,
If not answered within xx seconds,
Call to g through to reception phone voicemail.

I don't want the user to have any interaction during the message.

Sounds simple but i'm struggling to get my head around it. Any help much appreciated.

Lee, this is very possible, easy to perform once you do know how.

Setup a Virtual Extension ( VE ) with the receptionists extension in it, an Auto Attendant ( A/A ) with a custom scenario of just answering and playing a message before overflowing to another VE, that again has the receptionists extension within it and overflowing then to the voicemail of the receptionist by using call routing to send the call to the PBX Voicemail of the Receptionist.

    Clear as mud ??

    Hi Kevin,

OK, this sounds do-able, but I just need a few points clarified.

Do you mean setup a virtual extension with reception phone in an MER group?

Also by overflow do you mean if there in no answer on the MER group?

And lastly, how can I create the custom scenario file to JUST play a message then ring the extension.? All the examples i've looked at do fancy things if the caller presses a number. I need the numbers to be non active for the caller.

    Thanks Lee.

Try this Lee (ext 300 will be reception in the example)
    Create "Virtual" extn 399.
    Create "AA" extn 10
Program fxo to ring on 399

In settings MER for 399 select 300 and enable.
Call fwd "no answer" to extn 10
Set 399 no answer timeout in basic settings to 15 secs

Go to scenario settings for 10
    Select redirect after timeout
    Recurring 1
    Call type pbx
    Call to 300
record and upload apology message to welcome
record and upload transfer message to recurring

Set 300 no answer timeout to 20 secs and enable voice mail.

    Scenario will be as follows;
Incoming fxo rings ext 300 for 15secs the gets diverted to 10 for apology message. Caller then transferred with guidance message to extn 300 for further 20secs ring. Callers terminated on 300 voice mail if no answer.
    Hope this makes sense.
    Cheers Mike

1./ Yes - setup a virtual extension with reception phone in an MER group

    IE VE = 800

2./ Yes - no answer on the MER group to the A/A - custom scenario
    IE A/A = 801

3./ A/A 801 - Custom - use one of the tricky dial to's and instead of having the "Dial" to a destination in the file change all of them and add every key sequence possible and set it to "goto" Field1.. that will replay the same file to them or you could just have no dial to options and then send them direct to the last VE
    IE VE = 802

4./ VE = 802 with the reception in it as part of a MERg
On no answer send the call to another VE - 803, which is unconditionally forwarded to the receptionist's voicemail.

5./ VE = 803 , Unconditional forward to Receptionists Voicemail

    *NOTE*
Ensure that you also have a BUSY destination in the VE's to the next destination or YOU will have messages being left in your VE's.

    Regards

    Kev
