How it works
iQall is an application allowing you to make free calls from your iPhone. iQall uses Epygi Quadro IP PBX to establish the calls between your iPhone and dialed numbers anywhere in the world. After installing iQall on your iPhone, just configure it with a Quadro IP PBX entering the IP address and the password of your Quadro as well as the phone number of your iPhone. Having done that, simply dial or select the number you want to call to and press the “Call” button. Then iQall sends via the Internet the request to the Quadro IP PBX to connect your iPhone to the dialed number. Quadro calls you back via a carrier and connects you to the dialed number.
It doesn’t matter where you are, you can call to your co-workers in the office just dialing the extension number - the same as if you are in the office and calling from your in-house extension.
Your iPhone number and the numbers you are dialing should comply with the numbering format used in the Call Routing Table of the Quadro IP PBX. iQall is not a softphone however, since it uses the Quadro IP PBX for making the call, the call connection path may include VoIP (Voice over IP) fragments.
Cost savings calling convenience
Since the Quadro IP PBX calls you back for connecting to the destination, you don’t need to pay any charges on your iPhone if you have a GSM plan with the free inbound calls. Also, since the connection to the destination is established by the Quadro, you don’t need to pay for that call leg on your iPhone even if you are making international calls.
If your iPhone is not tied with a specific carrier, you will save even more on roaming charges when traveling. Just install a SIM card from the local carrier and make calls using iQall. The Quadro located in your country will call you back via ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) or any other carrier configured on your Quadro, and will connect the call. Your SIM card will not be charged at all.
In cases when the Quadro is using the carrier (cellular, local, long distance or VoIP) for connecting the call, some charges may apply to call legs which use the carrier.

Am I missing the point - so long as the iphone has an internet connection would you just not configure the iphone as a remote extension and use a standard sip client to call iphone to office bound extensions and use the CRT for ITSP based calls ?

iQall is not a softphone and it is not registering on Quadro. It is rather some kind of dialer using the "click-to-dial" functionality of Quadro (see "callcontrol.cgi" hidden page on Quadro).
Before using iQall you have to configure it with Quadro entering the IP address of Quadro, http(s) port of Quadro and the phone number of iPhone.
When you dial the number in iQall and press the "Call" button, it sends the http(s) request to Quadro via Internet using WiFi or GSM data network connection of iPhone. The http request includes the iPhone's and the destination (dialed) numbers. Upon receiving the request, Quadro calls on iPhone's number and as soon as you answer that call Quadro connects you to the dialed number. For making both calls (to iPhone and to dialed number) Quadro uses the Call Routing Table.
What it gives you? - cost savings and convenience! Let me mention just two scenarios.

Scenario 1: you are traveling and your iPhone is not locked. You don't want to use the cellular roaming because of high cost. What options you have? - iQall! Buy a local, cheap and prepaid SIM card with the free inbound calls and install that on your iPhone. Configure iQall with your home-office Quadro. Be sure to configure your iPhone's new number properly, according to call routing rules of your home-office Quadro. Also, you need to have an ITSP account configured on your Quadro for making the cheap calls. Now, when you make a call from iQall, Quadro will call you back via ITSP and connect to the dialed number. Thus, after this call your SIP card balance doesn't change and Quadro needs just to pay a small fraction of the roaming charges to ITSP.

Sceanrio 2: you are in the home city and want to make an international call to somebody at low cost. You can use your Quadro in the office connected to PSTN lines. Calling to PSTN number of Quadro you will be connected to Quadro's Auto Attendant. Now you have to dial the destination number entering every single digit of destinaiton number because iPhone doesn't allow you to select the number from "Contacts" when the call is connected to Auto Attendant. What options you have to improve this process and make it more convenient - again iQall!
To make the same call from iQall just select the number from "Contacts" and press the "Call" button. Quadro will call you back and connect to selected number. Cheap and convenient.

The idea of iQall is fantastic. I went ahead and acquired the app for my iPhone 2G. However, I have spent the past several hours trying to get it to work. Calls from the iPhone via iQall app are constantly reported as:

Call Failed:
Timed out.

I have followed the documented steps on the Epygi site to the tee. Epygi's own support site has no documents related to iQall that I can find. I have used the only documentation I could find at http://www.epygi.com/iQall/226 in order to learn how the app is to be configured. And all call routes in CRT of Quadro are working perfect, just as they always have. This has proven to be true as we use the click-to-dial functionality of our Quadro on our website and click-to-dial works perfectly.

Would be nice if the app did more than just installing on the iPhone and allowing me to configure the settings...

Actually, the information on http://www.epygi.com/iQall/226 is sufficient for configuring and using iQall. You are getting "Timed out" probably because the management access of your Quadro is either blocked in firewall or restricted to some specific IP addresses. Below see the notice i've copied from iQall web page:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: iQall is using the management access port for sending the call request to Quadro. Therefore, be sure to keep that port open for iQall without compromising the Quadro security.

For checking the validity of my assumption regarding the reason of "Timed out", disable the firewall for a moment and try to make a call from iQall.

When configuring iQall with a Quadro IP PBX running 5.2 firmware, you can use the extension number and extension password instead of admin and admin password.

Am using Quadro 2x.
Does not allow 5.2 firmware to be loaded.
I am under the impression that 5.1.39 is the latest firmware available for the 2x.

I still cannot get iQall to work.
It does turn out that the click-to-dial functionality does not work unless I change the firewall to 'Low Security'.
I have tried unsuccessfully to get a filter set that would allow the firewall to function yet allow the click to dial and call control and iQall to function.

Can you give me some specific tips other than "You must allow the management port to be open"? I can clearly see where to do this but it does not work. I have tried entering our static IP address of the server where the click-to-dial request is coming from in the single IP address field. I have tried the host name breesoft.com in the single url field. I simply cannot get this to work.

Am I missing something here?
I have read all the documentation and yet I am no further than when I started.
I have iQall installed on my iPhone but I have to use the admin/******* login option since our Quadro 2x cannot run 5.2 firmware.

All help is greatly appreciated.
