Incoming call going to park position or hold

Howdy,
I have a client who wants incoming calls to go to a park position or hold, so they can hear a professionally produced hold music promo provided as a streaming audio source using the Eypgi Music Streamer, (EMS).

The file is 6min or so, so it is too long to be uploaded to the Quadro 2xi as a wave file.
Is this possible?

An IVR would be O.K. at a pinch, can an incoming call via XML be parked or put on hold?

Is park and hold the only way a caller can hear a streamed music source?

I'm using Snom 320 handsets, can these some how be setup to do this if the Quadro 2xi can't do it?

This is a show-stopper:- without this function, the client doesn't want the Quadro 2xi.
Everything else they are happy with.

I have a customer that has several informative announcements that are used with the A/A via xml before then sending to the destination if needed or the call is hung up ...


Or you could use Alternate Ring inside an A/A as a means of playing the audio ....

Are you saying the alternate ring can be streamed using the Epygi Music Streamer?

That would be O.K. I guess, I'll look at Auto Attendants today.

You don't necessarily need to use EMS for a 6 min hold music.. - 6 min is not too big (about 3Mg in PCMU), so you should be able to upload that to Quadro (though at the expense of space available for VM)..

However, I think EMS will provide a better solution as the recording will be in a continuous loop, rather than always starting from the beginning.

In addition, I'm already having issues with uploading long recordings, so whilst I appreciate your optimism, unless I'm doing something wrong, the Quadro 2xi memory is too limited for what I'm trying to do.

Using a streaming source doesn't tie-up any onboard Quadro 2xi memory resources which is A Good Thing.

You mentioned in another post the following:

Namely - you can now stream the call queue message from an external source.
You would need to select the "Alternative Call Queuing" mode to be able to use this.. (activated from a hidden page).
This ability is not advertised or even documented, but can be used...

I'd like to explore using a streaming call queue message, where is this hidden page?
