Unhappy Password protecting external calls issue

    Hi,

    Anyone else seen this one?

I'm on the latest Epygi Firmware (didn't work on previous versions tested either!) and the following scenario does not work as the caller cannot hear the called phone ringing - first thing you know is that the call goes to voicemail or someone answers. If neither of these happen you have no idea whether the call was successful or not!

    o. In account settings, select require password for outgoing calls.
o When you try to call another extension internally the phone correctly asks for a password and you hear the phone ringing on the other end and the call takes place as normal.
o However, when you try the same to an external PSTN number (via ISDN in UK) you cannot hear the called partys' phone ringing.

BTW, tested this on Snom 300/320 with latest v7 firmware from Snom website

    Strange but true....any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Andy

Andy its in your euro isdn settings... you can nominate the Epygi to provide the ring etc.... EURO ISDN right ?

    Default Euro ISDN

I'm not sure to be honest - don't know in the UK if Euro ISDN is used or we have our own format.

The options you mention in your post - where is this menu in the Quadro?

    Many Thanks,

    Andy

    Hi,

This is well known bug and fixed Nov. 6 2008.
Might be it is not included in public versions for some IP PBX products.

    I may suggest workaround...
From ISDN advanced settings page select "Bearer Establishment Procedure" to "on call acceptance"
So in this case Quadro will play his own ring back tone.
