    Default Linksys phones.

I have an opportunity to punt a non-performing Linksys ITPBX into touch but the client would prefer to keep his Linksys handsets rather than buying new ones.

Has anyone ever hooked a Linksys phone to an Epygi? Any obvious problems?

    Cheers..

Well, some people are using the Linksys for a long time (ssteiner, for example). In the latest 5.0.x firmware we have added four Linksys (something like SPA941/942, 921/922..) phones to the autoconfigured phones list. That particularly means they are considered to be tested and compatible to Quadro..

    Best regards,
    David

    Cheers David.

Assuming it's one of those models, if I want auto-prov to kick in, I guess the best plan is find out how to factory-reset the phones first...

Chris, see the the doc "Configuring Epygi Tested IP Phones on Quadro LAN":

    ********************
    5.10 Linksys SPA922/921/941/942
To complete the automatic configuration on Linksys SPA9x2 IP Phones reset the phone to factory default settings:
    1. Press the Setup button on the keypad of the phone to enter the setup menu.
    2. Press 14, or scroll down until Factory Reset is highlighted and then press the Select soft key.
    3. The phone will ask for confirmation before doing a factory reset.
    4. Press the Ok soft key (the left soft key) and wait until the phone restarts.
    ********************

    Best regards,

I started with version4 as well - over a year ago now. I'm also using speeddial/blf/pickup key functionality with the 6.1.3 firmware on the Linksys phones. Details here.
The only bothersome issue, is that not all of the softkeys work (it's not a Linksys specific problem though).. e.g. you can configure callforward all you want.. it'll never work because the Quadro's don't support the optional SIP 3xx messages (used to redirect a call) - and the park key doesn't even show up and it wouldn't work anyways since the Quadro uses the classic * code approach to parking.. not the new and fancy REFER to park number with an orbit). Unless I get gbit capable color phones for a decent price, I wouldn't consider exchanging my SPA phones for anything despite that.

    SSteiner,

Out of interest, with the Linksys SPA's, do you use the internal dial plan or disable that completely and use the Epygi for dial plan?
Or does the Epygi rewrite the dial plan to suit ?

    Regards

    Kevin
