Transfer a call?

Common stuff, want to answer a call, pick a recipient, talk to the recipient, then either leave the call with the recipient or take it back.

If I use the TRANSFER button on the SNOM, I can't talk to the recpient, the call is transferred at ONCE to the target number.

I've tried referring to the Snom manual page on call transferring but it's written in an advanced form of gibberish I can't translate. :-)

Actually, the "with chat" mode of transferring is what I find on any other system, the "just dump it" mode is usually achieved by making a "with chat" call then just hanging up leaving it ringing on the target number.

Hi Chris .... Under SNOM use 2 party conference ... found under the Asvanced settings - Call join on Xfer (2 calls):

Try that one... and also transferring.. is achieved by the following :


1./Hold Key
2./Dial Extension
3./Wait for called party to answer
4./Hit Transfer and hang up

That is what you should expect..

As far as Parking ...

Create extension 400 / 401 / 402 / 403 as PARK extensions as the type.. and allocate the timer as needed...

We tried the Conf Setup but the client reasonably wants to be SURE that his conversation with the target is NOT heard by the transfer-ee. Wasn't sure without checking that this could be acheived during the Conf Setup phase.

Found the Hold/Dial/Chat/Transfer/Hangup route by chance. It's not quite intuitive given most users will be familiar with Transfer/Dial/Chat/Hangup, but I'm sure we can train 'em! :-)
